The S\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o Beach<\/a><\/u><\/b>, on the Ericeira coast, was awarded 1st place in the \u201cMost Accessible Beach 2025\u201d award in the coastal beaches category, reinforcing the recognition of this beach area in the municipality of Mafra as a national example of accessibility and inclusion.<\/p>

The award was presented during BTL \u2013 Lisbon Travel Market, one of the main tourism events in Portugal, and is part of the program \u201cAccessible Beach \u2013 Beach for All!<\/a><\/u><\/b>\u201d, developed in partnership by the National Institute for Rehabilitation (INR), the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), and Turismo de Portugal. The goal of this initiative is to highlight beaches that offer the best access and usability conditions for people with reduced mobility.<\/p>

The award was presented to the Mayor of Mafra, Hugo Moreira Lu\u00eds, in a ceremony attended by several entities linked to tourism and inclusion, including the President of the Board of Directors of INR, S\u00f3nia Esperto, the President of APA, Pimenta Machado, the Vice-President of Turismo de Portugal, Teresa Monteiro, and the representative of IACESS, Helena Vitorino.<\/p>

This distinction recognizes the work carried out by the municipality and local entities to ensure that the region\u2019s beaches offer suitable conditions for all visitors, helping to make Mafra\u2019s coastline increasingly inclusive.<\/p>

In the inland beaches category, the first prize was awarded to Fraga da Pegada Beach, in Macedo de Cavaleiros.<\/p>
